Descripción enviada por el equipo del proyecto. En los últimos años se ha desarrollado un proceso de fortalecimiento de la vida musical y cultural del municipio de Boca del Río. En el año 2014 se consolidó la creación de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río, instancia que ha atraído diversas expresiones musicales, músicos locales y de todo el mundo y se ha convertido en el corazón de la vida cultural de la ciudad.
La orquesta filarmónica impulsa tres ejes de acción que consisten en una temporada de Conciertos Sinfónicos, una temporada de recitales de música de cámara y finalmente un programa de educación musical llamado “Orquestando Armonía”, éste último eje de acción está enfocado a la educación musical infantil y juvenil, con la finalidad de crear estrategias que fortalezcan el tejido social. Las dinámicas de la orquesta han tenido un desempeño exitoso social y culturalmente y se ha encontrado la necesidad de crear un nuevo recinto cultural que sirva de sede y casa de la orquesta, así como de todos los programas que impulsa.
El nuevo recinto está dentro del marco de un plan maestro que tiene la finalidad de revitalizar un área urbana que se encuentra en deterioro. Se localiza en la desembocadura del río, lugar que no sólo da nombre a la ciudad y al municipio, sino que es un espacio de historia y tradición culinaria. El predio se encuentra al inicio de la escollera que divide al río del mar, es el remate de la avenida costera Vicente Fox cuando se encuentra con el río, pero también es el remate de la calle Zamora, característica por tener restaurantes tradicionales y que llega hasta la cabecera municipal.
La localización del Foro Boca tiene la intención de articular las dinámicas del centro de Boca del Río con la avenida costera, tiene la finalidad de ser un detonador urbano capaz de incitar la modernización de esta zona, y es un instrumento que ha permitido construir y renovar la infraestructura e imagen urbana de esa parte de la ciudad. El edificio retoma la expresión atemporal de los cubos de concreto que forman las escolleras, las asimila como su origen y las reinterpreta en un edificio de concreto aparente, formado por diversos volúmenes que se organizan en forma aleatoria para contener a la sala de conciertos.
En su interior el foro boca despliega el conocimiento técnico de especialistas tanto internacionales como locales de acústica, isóptica y mecánica teatral, además cuenta con el equipamiento técnico que permitirá a este recinto ser una de las salas de conciertos más sofisticadas del país.
El programa arquitectónico contempla una sala de conciertos de música clásica, tradicional y popular para 966 espectadores, que también tiene la capacidad de presentar espectáculos de teatro y danza, así como presentaciones de cine. Adicionalmente el recinto contará con una sala de ensayos, que también permitirá la presentación al público de conciertos de cámara, funciones de teatro de piso, de cine y danza contemporánea, y tiene la capacidad de ofrecer estos espectáculos a 150 espectadores.
En la parte del Back of house, el edificio responde principalmente a las necesidades de la orquesta filarmónica con salones de ensayos para percusiones, pianos y solistas, además de estudio de grabación. Cuenta con camerinos generales y camerinos para directores y músicos invitados, así como para el director de la filarmónica. Estos espacios fueron concebidos para poder combinar la vida cotidiana de la orquesta, con las necesidades de otras actividades, como una función de teatro. El edificio contará con un área de oficinas y biblioteca musical. Contando con estas instalaciones, se podrán llevar a cabo talleres, clases y festivales de diversas índoles.
